Advice to Long Course Triathletes
|
Most of my races have been Olympic distance. I have only done a handful of the longer
races. For me, there is always a nervous fear that I won't be able to complete the longer distances.
One of the things I work on is my confidence. I want to reduce some of that doubt. So that means
completing or approaching the full distance of each leg in training a few times before
the race. I will be taking these sessions slowly. Other shorter workouts will be
to work on speed. Also I spend a lot of time on the bike. If I can have a
good bike split in the race I can make up some of the time I lose in the swim.
I use Spinervals workouts or I go
to Hains Point (a closed loop in DC) for interval workouts. |
